Had Enough Of
Being A Landlord?

If you’re 55+ with a £1m+ rental portfolio and you’re thinking about selling up, I help landlords exit in one go – with tenants left in place and without it dragging on for years.

Talk To Jonathan About My Portfolio

15–20 minute phone call to see if a clean exit is realistic for you. No obligation.

If you’ve had a letter from me, this page explains who I am and how the process works.

Is This You?

Does This Sound Familiar?

Most of the landlords I speak to are men in their 50s, 60s or 70s who built their portfolio over decades. It was meant to be a pension. Lately it feels like a headache.
Common reasons they’re thinking about selling:
  • Section 24 means the tax bill feels bigger every year, even when cash is tight.
  • The Renters’ Rights changes and loss of Section 21 make it harder to deal with problem tenants.
  • EPC, licensing and other rules keep adding cost and admin.
  • The kids don’t want the properties – they’d rather you simplify things.
  • You’re simply tired of dealing with it and want to “draw a line under it” properly.
If you’re in that camp, you don’t need another course or seminar. You need a straightforward view of whether you can sell the whole lot in one go, at a sensible price, without unnecessary drama.

What I Help Landlords Do

I’m a portfolio finance and structuring specialist. My job is to help you exit cleanly, not to squeeze you into the fastest or flashiest option.
  • Look at the whole picture – Number of properties, mortgages, rents, your age, tax position, and what you actually want out.
  • Work out if a one-go sale makes sense – Sometimes selling the company is better, sometimes selling the properties. I’ll tell you honestly if a full portfolio sale is realistic or not.
  • Make the portfolio “buyer and lender ready” – Rent roll, tenancies, certificates and basic housekeeping so decent buyers and their lenders can say yes.
  • Introduce serious buyers only – Not tyre-kickers. People who can actually complete on £1m+ portfolios with tenants in place.
  • Stay involved until the end – So the deal doesn’t fall over at survey, lender or legal stage.

How The Process Works

Short Call
We have a 15–20 minute call. You tell me roughly what you own, where it is, loan sizes and what you’re trying to achieve. If I don’t think I can help, I’ll say so.
Portfolio Exit Outline (Free)
If it looks viable, I put together a simple written outline: likely buyer type, rough pricing range, realistic timescale, and any obvious issues that need tidying first.
Tidy Up & Go To Market
If you want to proceed, we get the paperwork in order and I introduce you to suitable buyers or buyerside advisers
See It Through To Completion
I stay involved alongside your solicitor so you’re not left to join the dots between buyers, lenders and lawyers on your own.

Who This Is For (And Not For)

For you if:

  • Your rental portfolio (or company owning it) is worth around £1m or more.
  • You’re 55 or older and thinking seriously about exiting in the next 3–36 months.
  • You’d like to sell with tenants in place rather than clear everyone out.
  • You want a proper plan, not a rushed, rock-bottom “we buy any house” deal.

Not for you if:

  • You only have one or two properties.
  • You just want the quickest possible cash at any price.
  • You’re looking for general property training or education.

A Few Real-World Examples

  • £1.5m portfolio – Landlord sold the company that held the properties at a discount, rather than drip-selling units. Exit in months, not years.
  • 36-unit mixed portfolio – Bought via company purchase at a discount, with lender and buyer aligned early so the deal completed in around three months.
  • Semi-commercial portfolio with awkward leases – Restructured and refinanced so the owner could exit without emptying the building or losing good tenants.
  • Long-term landlord in his 60s – Shifted from a handson portfolio to a clean sale and a simpler income plan agreed with his adviser.
Every situation is different. The first job is simply to see if a clean exit is on the table for you.

No. I don’t run a volume cashbuy service. I specialise in structuring and funding proper exits for experienced landlords with larger portfolios.

In most cases, no. Many buyers prefer tenants to stay and the income to continue. If any units are likely to be an issue, I’ll flag that early.

It depends on size and complexity, but a lot of landlords aim for around 2–3 months from agreeing terms to completion. We can talk about what’s realistic for you.

The initial call and written outline are free. Any fees for brokerage or finance work are agreed in writing before you decide to go ahead.

No. I’m not a tax adviser. I work alongside your accountant / tax adviser so the exit route and finance line up with the plan they recommend.
